Job Description

CLINICAL/FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST FOR A PRIVATE MENTAL HEALTH HOSPITALI am working with a large and highly respected private hospital network, with sites all over the country. The cooperative managers are currently looking for a Clinical/Forensic psychologist for their beautiful residential site in Birmingham, to work on a full time permanent basis.Location: BirminghamType of work: Permanent, Full timeSpeciality: Adolescent forensic team (ages 12-18), mental health act, eating disordersEmployer: Private mental health service, dedicated to help children, adolescents and young adults with general mental health issues, addictions, eating disorders, family issues.Description:This role is for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to work with adolescents from an age range from 12 -18 years, which may be either individual or group work, mainly on an inpatient basis with a small outpatient case load. Considering the service users and their familys views carefully, you will assess the young persons psychological needs, devise psychological formulations and treatment plans in conjunction with the Multi-Disciplinary Team.Your role will contribute in the young person to adapt to any aspect of their life with more independence, confidence and control. As part of our multidisciplinary team, which consists of Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses, Counselling Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Family Therapists, Art Therapist, Drama Therapist and Social Workers, you will help the young people to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity.Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Forensic Psychology
  • HCPC and BPS registered
  • Proven experience in mental health and knowledge of the Mental Health Act in service provision with young people
  • Patient centric & commitment to delivering high quality care
  • Familiar with a range of psychometric assessment tools tailored to the needs of young people
