Job Description

Closing Date: 08/12/2021Do you want to be part of the largest event ever in the West MidlandsBirmingham 2022 is looking for a Fleet Depot and Support Services Manager to join the Fleet Operations, Services and Systems (Fleet) Functional Area. Fleet is responsible for the lifecycle of most of the light-duty vehicles used in the preparation, conductand dissolution of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.Reporting to the Head of Fleet Operations and working alongside the Fleet Systems Manager and Fleet Services Manager, the Fleet Depot and Support Services Manager will oversee the development of the Fleet depot planning, operations, support services andservice levels.As a Fleet team member, you be working with one of the largest teams at the Games, in a friendly, inclusive and dynamic environment. If you have experience with transport operations and delivering transport systems with experience of managing complex projects,we would love to hear from you.Responsibilities

  • Developing depot designs in collaboration with other Organising Committee focal points and spatial designs for Fleet facilities and workspaces.
  • Leading on the works required to set up the Fleet depot including, commodity ordering, security, and safety and EV Charging.
  • Ensuring the depot is built and returned to its original state after the Games in an effective and efficient manner along with contractual requirements.
  • Leading in the Fleet Operations EV charging from strategy through to implementation at the deport, Organising Committee villages and venues and other sites identified to support the Organising Committee and its sustainability and legacy initiatives.
  • Overseeing the overall depot look of the Games design, installation, and removal.
  • Working with the depot supplier on integration between the Organising Committee and supplier and acting as focal point to revolve depot issues.
  • Leading health and safety design and processes within internal Organising Committee Functional Areas and working with the depot supplier.
  • At Games time, overseeing depot security and maintenance of fleet depot facilities.
  • Ensuring that all Fleet plans and deliverables comply with relevant licensing and legislation.

  • Current UK Driving License.
  • Experience of influencing and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the lifecycle of fleet vehicles.
  • Detailed understanding of delivering operations with finite resources and demanding scheduling requirements.
  • Ability to manage complex projects on a similar scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary organisation and to build active, cooperative partnerships with external agencies.
  • Experience preparing operations plans, detailed mapping and communications collateral.
