Job Description

Financial Risk Actuary Location - Birmingham (hybrid)Duration - 6 months (scope for extension)Loriens UK leading Pensions and Insurance firm are currently looking for a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join the team on an initial 6 month contract.Key Responsibilities

  • Promote effective challenge and informed decision-making on proposals from asset management, heritage and the open business.
  • In line with agreed objectives, support oversight of Unit Linked and Market risks.
  • Contribute to assurance reports in line with agreed objectives to support the Group in continuing to operate within its agreed appetites.
  • Support delivery of an effective risk management framework for the Group and LifeCos ensuring forward-looking risks are clearly articulated and well understood.
Unit Linked Oversight
  • Support and challenge the Groups risk and control assessments for the Unit-Linked Policy.
  • Engage with the wider risk team to ensure policyholder outcomes are protected in the Groups management of Unit-Linked business.
  • Consider the impact of ESG and Sustainability considerations for policyholder funds.
  • Support the Groups ambitions to become a market-leading offering in the Workplace schemes market.
Oversight of ALM and investment risk
  • Provide oversight of management of policyholder assets including areas such as manager oversight and investment strategy.
  • Conduct second line reviews of ALM proposals, including hedging strategies, rebalancing and review of market risk appetite and targets.
  • Provide oversight of derivative and collateral management processes
  • Support the ongoing compliance with matching adjustment requirements
  • Review Groups risk and control assessments for the market risk policy
What are we looking for
  • A qualified actuary with experience in the finance, actuarial or investment functions of an insurance company
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements governing insurance companies in particular those relating to investments
  • Understanding of asset liability management and investing for good customer outcomes
  • A good understanding of Solvency II and COBS 21
