Job Description

Position: Financial Reporting ManagerLocation: BirminghamSalary/Package: £60-65k salary + £5k car + pension, PHI and bonusWe are working with a Global Tier 1 Automotive Supplier based in Birmingham, to help them find a Qualified Accountant to join them as a Financial Reporting Manager. Paying a salary in the region of £60-65k + £5k car allowance, pension, PHI and bonus, youllwork from home until July 2022 and then be able to work in a hybrid fashion from then onwards.Reporting in to the Finance Director, youll focus on producing financial accounts under IFRS and US GAAP, as well of producing consolidated sets of accounts for their European subsidiaries. There will be about 10% travel required as part of the role.Other responsibilities:

  • Continually improve and enhance the quality of financial reporting across the Group
  • A key element of the role will be to pro-actively manage and strive to improve all aspects of the internal and external reporting processes whilst adhering to and evolving the compliance framework.
  • One of the many challenges of the role will be to successfully manage senior management relationships.
  • Ensuring the group is preparing financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards and group requirements (US GAAP experience is desirable, not essential)
  • Management of month/quarter/year end financial reporting processes and assisting with the audit process to ensure timely sign-offs can be achieved.
  • Review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and fluctuation analysis
  • Consolidation of Group locations
  • Review and analyse reserves across the group
  • The ability to understand, digest and explain complex accounting issues to non-finance stakeholders
  • Understanding differences between group and local level accounting requirements and impacts thereof
  • Support local teams with statutory accounting preparation and issues
  • To identify process and reporting improvement opportunities at consolidation and local level
  • Identify control deficiencies within the organisation
  • Investigation of and reporting on any identified control weaknesses or control failures
Skills and experience required:
  • Formal accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA)
  • 3 years+ "Big Four" or "top 10" Accountancy Experience. If still in Accountancy, ideally seeking Manager level applicants. If left Accountancy at newly qualified level, must have 2 years+ relevant finance experience gained in an Automotive or ManufacturingBusiness.
  • Ideally worked within an Automotive or Manufacturing company, either directly, or on client engagements
  • Experience of group consolidations
  • Experience of group reporting within a global framework and delivering to deadlines
  • Experience of identifying unusual trends or anomalies in financial reports
  • Strong audit background and past experience of assessing internal controls
  • Experience of identifying process improvements
  • Strong communication skills
  • Gravitas to challenge senior management
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
