Job Description

This position calls for a Financial Controller in the who will be overseeing the Accounting & Finance Department of a mid-sized firm based in Birmingham.   • As the Financial Controller, oversee the operations of the Accounting & Finance department.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organisation.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analysis and information reports.
  • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial information analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Lead a team of 7 individuals in the finance team.
  • Support financial decision-making information by collecting, analysing, investigating, and reporting financial data.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance systems
ProfileA successful Financial Controller should have:
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with 3+ years PQE
  • Proven experience in a managerial position within a Finance department.
  • Proficiency in major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering change in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience of working with and building interrogation tools within PowerBI would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Job Offer
  • An attractive salary package ranging from £70,000-£80,000 with an additional £4,500 car allowance.
