Job Description

A successful and respected financial advisory firm based in Birmingham, are looking for an experienced and qualified Financial Adviser to join them.Are you looking to move away from the targets and expectations of bringing in new business, to focus more on the nurturing of existing clients Then this could be the best opportunity for you!You will develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to deliver financial life planning services. Their approach is relationship based and allows them to work with clients over the long term to inspire them and motivate them to live their best life. This approach means that they build deep and meaningful relationships with clients where they view them as their trusted adviser.The company are looking for an adviser with experience working with highly complex and technical requirements of clients.Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:Maintaining relationships with existing clients

  • Manage and nurture a portfolio of 85 investment-focused clients - involving complex calculations and requiring a high level of technical expertise
  • Conduct annual review meetings with existing clients ensuring company process is followed
  • Ensure clients’ Financial Forecast is updated
  • Liaise with Client Relationship Manager to ensure all post-meeting tasks are completed accurately and timely
  • Ensure all conversations with clients outside of review meetings are recorded
  • Acquiring and onboarding new clients
  • Establish links with referrers and advocates
  • Build and maintain a professional profile online using content consistent with the company brand, culture and policy
  • Create content to attract new enquiries, including articles/blogs for the company newsletter, social media channels and website
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of clients’ financial circumstances, current provision, and future aims in line with the company’s approach to financial life planning and its investment philosophy
  • Business Processing
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all new business documentation
  • Ensure that all compliance requirements are met, including obtaining client identification, knowledge and experience and vulnerability assessments
  • Liaise with CRM to ensure new business is accurately packaged and promptly submitted to provider
  • Personal Development
  • Meet the annual FCA Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements including ongoing Level 4 competency assessment & completing minimum requirements for structural CPD
  • Develop and maintain Life Planning and Coaching skills
  • Meet the fit & proper and competency requirements of Certification staff including Tier
  • What the employer is looking for:
  • At least 4-5 years’ experience as a practicing Financial Planner
  • Level 4 Diploma in appropriate subjects to meet FCA requirements
  • Knowledge of financial services products and cash flow planning tools
  • Competent at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic diary management
  • Experience with industry relevant back office systems - i.e. Intelligent Office’ or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills preferable
  • Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) from a relevant institute - essential
  • Good credit history and no criminal record - essential
  • A desire to progress towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner
  • Registered Life Planner Accreditation or similar - desirable
