Job Description

Calling all aspiring Financial Controllers! In this newly created role as a Financial Accountant you will have the support from an experienced FC guiding your professional development and helping you to realise your career goals.The companys aim is to reduce carbon emissions and increase the usage of renewable energy which resonates with their employees. So if you have a drive and determination youll definitely progress with this company and your career.Your new role (Financial Accountant)The key responsibilities are:

  • Supporting month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing annual statutory accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements such as reporting, tax and accounting standards
  • Preparing, checking and submitting monthly payroll data
  • HMRC declarations
  • Improving the overall control framework
  • Supporting external audits
  • Creating time and space for the Financial Controller to improve the overall control environment of a growing company

  • Base salary: £40k to £45k
  • WFH ~2 days per week | Birmingham (B1 - New Street area) ~3 days*
  • Discretionary bonus
  • 24 days holiday (excluding bank holidays). Rising to 26 days after 1 year
  • Study support
*The hiring manager and Finance Director want to ensure that the successful candidate receives a high quality induction which will require flexibility in the early months.Skills and experience to be successful
  • A Part Qualified (PQ) or qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Industry experience with a commercial organisation
  • Monthly and annual reporting
  • Providing information to external entities
  • Attention to detail
The Interview Process
  • 60 minute TEAMS interview with the FC & one other member of staff
  • 60 minute face to face meeting with both the FD & the FC
