Whether thats through flexible working, really understanding how you work best or exposing youto real opportunities to challenge yourself, if youre passionate about making your mark on the industry and on society, then we will help you do that.Your RoleAs the Financial Accountant, you will be supporting the Financial Controller in preparing final accounts at 9 and 12 months for the external audit and supporting their requests and queries throughout the external audit process.Your role will also involve:- Supporting the Financial Controller in the treasury management of the Gambling Commission in accordance with managing public money.- Line manager of two Assistant Financial Accountants.- Responsible for the integrity of all financial systems and maintaining timely delegated authority structures within.- Ownership of the balance sheet, ensuring timely and regular reviews are conducted with the Financial Controller.- Ensuring all internal and external returns (including HMRC and Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS)) are completed, reviewed and returned on time.- Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.About You- Qualified accountant or QBE with significant experience.- Team management experience.- Good internal and external stakeholder management skills.- Good understanding of accounting principles including the application of notes and disclosures in year-end accounts.- Ability to meeting tight deadlines and work under pressure. This will involve managing your own workload and managing the teams activities to ensure there is capacity to meet the needs of the business.Knowledge of public sector accounting such as Managing Public Money and FReM would be desirable.The closing date for this role is 4th September 2022.PLEASE NOTE: incomplete applications will be discounted from short-listing.
