Job Description

  • 36.5 hours per week.

Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit multi-academy trusts (MATs) in England. MATs are charities that run schools. We have been around since 2009 which makes us one of the longest established trusts. We are also one of the largest with almost 5,000 staff and 30,000 students.What will you doThe Finance Manager will take a leading role in improving the financial processes and controls at OAT, and will support the National Director of Finance and wider finance team in delivering a best in class finance solution. This will involve working with central and academy finance teams to develop and implement processes and systems required to deliver effective financial management and control.Core PurposeTo support the overall financial sustainability of Ormiston Academies Trust through the establishment and on-going management of robust financial processing procedures across the trust and ensuring strict compliance with financial policies and procedures.You will report to the National Director of Finance, managing project-based work and supporting the trust’s senior finance team in the development of the trust’s financial systems and processes.As this is a senior role the exact duties and responsibilities will change over time and the post holder will need to be responsive and proactive in the context of strategic priorities.Full details can be found in the job and person specification which you can find on the Careers page of the Ormiston Academies Trust website.To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • To be a fully-qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • A drive to complete projects and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and tasks
