Job Description

Finance Business PartnerWe are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner on an interim basis up until end the of February 2023. Your role will be to provide financial support and critical analytical challenge directorates to ensure the organisation achieves financial targets anddelivers value for money within the budgets set by the comprehensive spending review. The role is part of the Finance Directorate and specifically the Finance Operations Team. The Finance Operations Team is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-dayfinances of the organisation.As a Finance Business Partner, you will need to have/be:

  • Ability to work as part of a team, working closely with Corporate Directors and budget holders, Business Managers, Heads of HR, Contract Management, and the wider finance team.
  • Ability to interpret financial information and determine appropriate IFRS accounting treatment.
  • Ability to use Excel spreadsheets to analyse large and complex data sets and provide useful management information
  • CCAB qualified accountant
  • Knowledge of Oracle accounting systems or other similar ERP systems
  • Experience in providing financial information to inform project decisions, recognising consequence against cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Experience in business planning, forecasting experience within a project environment
Details:
  • Salary: £550 - £600 per day
  • Working Hours: Full Time Monday - Friday
  • Location: Birmingham
  • Duration: Contract (up until end of February 2023)
Role of Finance Business Partner:
  • Month End / IFRS Accounting /National Audit Office
    • Responsible for the accurate IFRS accounting of corporate expenditure in the monthly financial accounts.
    • Drive consistent month end reporting and review of all corporate directorates
    • Provides justification and supporting evidence of accounting treatments to National Audit Office Auditors as required.
  • Business Planning/Forecast
    • Leads Business Planning and forecasting process, providing guidance on planning principles & expectations as provided by the organisations business planning.
  • Budget Management
    • Supports Corporate Directors in determining the appropriate disaggregation & delegations to Sectors / Contracts
  • Workforce Costs & Indirects
    • Provides Workforce Actual costs & forecast information to inform programme estimates
    • Challenges budget holders to achieve workforce objectives and optimise resources.
  • Corporate Governance/ Managing Public Money
    • Provides guidance on the application of governance within area.
    • Review and Financial Endorsement of Change and Investment Papers.
    • Provides assurance to Finance Director that reported expenditure and contract payments are appropriate.
