Job Description

VAC: 277Field Service Engineer Location: Midlands covering nationally Basic Salary of up to £32,000 (Circa £45K including overtime) Package: Company van and fuel card, credit card, all PPE and tooling.Company LWS Services are proud to be the exclusive recruitment partner of an award-winning team who are global leaders within the Industrial Shredder equipment market. Due to expansion, there is now an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team.Role & Responsibilities will include:

  • Travelling to customer sites, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and fixing industrial shredding machinery to ensure that customer downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Inspections and services of shredders and recycling machinery to ensure that customer downtime is avoided, and throughput levels maintained.
  • Installing and commissioning machinery newly delivered to customers so that they are operational as soon as possible.
  • Providing basic operation and maintenance training to customer operators to ensure their ability to use shredders safely and effectively.
  • Interpreting schematics, manuals and other specifications to ensure that all services and repairs are carried out in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
    • Essential Experience / Skills:
  • Apprentice trained Electrical/Mechanical Engineer (Multi- Skilled)
  • Single or 3 phase Electrical qualifications experience is essential.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and fixing electrical and mechanical machinery faults
  • Worked with gearboxes and bearings
  • Experience Installing and commissioning machinery
  • Full UK driving licence (ideally clean)
  • Flexibility is required in relation to working hours to ensure that jobs are finished.
    • Advantageous:
  • Experience of welding and burning.
  • Possession of a forklift licence are desirable but not essential.
    • Additional Package Information:
  • 40 hour contract overtime is paid at time and a half up to Saturday midday and then double time, Sundays also double time.
  • 21 days’ holiday pro rata (January - December holiday year) plus your birthday and bank holidays. This will increase by one day per year up to a maximum of 25 days’ holiday plus birthday and bank holidays.
  • Specialist tools provided and a company van to complete your role effectively.
  • A company laptop mobile phone, credit card and fuel card will be given to you to cover all company expenses while working away or on site.
  • A subsistence allowance of £25.00/night is also provided, and all accommodation costs will also be covered by the company.
