Job Description

EXTERNAL SALES REPRESENTATIVEConstruction Hire Equipment £35,000 - £40,000Car, Phone, Laptop£2,000 - £20,000 in Commission depending on targets hitArea: MidlandsWe are looking for an experienced Construction Hire Equipment Sales professional to join or team. Anyone from an allied sector may also be considered such as Plant Hire, Construction Hire Equipment, Scaffolding, Civil Engineering, Site Equipment,Pilling, Access Control, Civils & Lintels, Foundation, Formwork & Falsework.The purpose of the role is to win new business & manage existing accounts in the Hire and Sales Groundworks Division.Responsibility The key result areas of your job are as follows:

  • Represent the company both by communicating by telephone, email, Teams/Zoom and in person to gain orders for all company products and services presenting to the customers the correct Groundworks Division company image.
  • To build strong, profitable and sustainable relationships with customers in your region and to develop and grow the territory to achieve Ground Shoring Hire & Sales Objectives, ensuring payment is received on time and in full.
  • Ensure contacts are established and maintained with the key customers and business influencers with a view to account development through targeted activity.
  • Maintain clear contact with the BDM/Independent Design Engineers/Relevant branch regarding specific customers operating both inside and outside of your designated territory to further develop the business.
  • Demonstrate Commercial awareness through understanding and application of commercial and financial principles and ensure you view issues in terms of costs, profits, markets and added value.
  • Maintain effective work behavior in the face of setbacks or pressure and demonstrate resilience in pursuance of goals and objectives.
  • Achieve budgeted turnover and targets within agreed pricing policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that all customer queries are dealt with in a courteous, speedy and effective manner within the agreed timescales.
  • Plan and effectively implement sales calls and total area coverage in agreement with the Branch Manager/BDM and Area Directors.
  • Aim to improve and understand technical or professional aspects of work and continually maintain technical capabilities through self-help/training.
  • Advise the Branch Manager of marketing information, including competitors activities and pricing by means of weekly reports and sales meetings.
  • Ensure that all paperwork has been processed at the correct time including daily report sheets. Keep and update customer record system.
  • Ensure that all quotations are confirmed in writing and are effectively progressed.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Company Health and Safety policies and Government Legislation is effectively implemented in areas where you work.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out specific projects as agreed from time to time and effectively implement Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the Company car provided is maintained in a clean and tidy and legally roadworthy condition at all times and present yourself in a smart and tidy manner in line with company rules, dress code and principles.Experience Needed
