Post Title: Exempt Accommodation Officer - Team LeaderDivision: Housing OptionsHourly Rate: £14.19 per hourStart Date: ASAP for until 31/3/2023, which may be extendedLocation: Office based in Birmingham near City CentreDBS: Not required, however, an enhanced DBS would be beneficial on auto-enrolmentFollowing a successful Pilot. Birmingham City Council has identified further funding for the financial year 2022-23 to continue a multi-disciplinary Supported Exempt Accommodation team to undertake inspections of Exempt accommodation and improve the standardof provision within Birmingham.A number of exciting positions are now being recruited to within the City Housing Directorate on an initial one year fixed term basisWe are looking for enthusiastic candidates for the Exempt Accommodation Officer role who possess property standard inspection experience of properties in multiple occupation.Having experience of the HHSRS inspection regime will be a distinct advantage, but is not essential if you are able to learn at pace.You will need knowledge and/or experience of the support worker role and possess strong negotiation and people skills to bring about change.It is essential that candidates are excellent communicators both in writing and in person as the role also involves responding to complaints from elected members and citizens of Birmingham.Problem solving skills are a key requirement together with experience of achieving positive outcomes.
