Environmental Manager, £45-50,000 per annum, hyrbid workingA fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for an experienced environmental manager to join a food and beverage manufacturing business based in the local Birmingham area.This company champions sustainability and it runs through everything they do.Through investment and continued innovation they are achieving their commitments to reduce their impact as well as provide education to partners.Within this exciting role you will be based at the site in Birmingham and will be responsible for managing and overseeing environment and sustainability issues for all sites. You will also be expected to lead the development and operation of the environmentalmanagement systems including setting standards and to lead on the formulation of sustainability strategies and policies.So travel to other sites and customers in the UK is required in this roleSalary = £45-50,000 per annumBenefits = Hybrid working, paid qualification opportunities, promotedwork life balance & many moreDuties include: Ensure Compliance with Environmental Agency Permits and associated Improvement Conditions. Monitor internal procedures to ensure compliance with required permit conditions e.g. tank and bund inspections. Manage and maintain relationships with Environment Agency across all sites. To promote current and develop new environmental & sustainability policies and standards as required. To identify opportunities to improve consistency and integration of environmental & sustainability approaches across all sites. To keep up to date with changes in legislation linked with Sustainability and Environment and submit consultations on behalf of the company. Manage internal environmental legal register and update when required. To keep abreast of key industry and environmental & sustainability trends and proactively identify emerging and future issues, risks and opportunities. To support with developing and presenting training materials for key internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers as needed. To support the development of business objectives, performance measures or other metrics to aid decision-making and demonstrate improved sustainability and commercial value. To represent the business externally with key stakeholders such as UK Plastics Pact and OPRL to further the companys environmental & sustainability profile. To focus on company energy monitoring system and liaise with the sites to identify areas of concern and areas for improvement. To report monthly and annually data to Agrial, EA, ONS Surveys and data required by retail customers. To Manage waste across all sites and report on annual packaging waste submissions.The ideal candidate for this role: Must have previous experience within an environmental management role Must have some sustainability experience or knowledge Experience of working within manufacturing Experience of building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
