Job Description

Environmental Health OfficerWe are recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer relating to Housing for our well established client in Birmingham.As an Environmental Health Officer you will need to have/be:

  • A sound knowledge of Environmental Health legislation relating to housing
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health
  • Appreciation and awareness of the cultural needs of the local diverse multi ethnic community
  • Experience of legal proceedings including preparation of evidence in Court
    • Details:
  • Pay Rate: £18.28 per hour
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday
  • Location: Birmingham
  • Duration: Temporary until end of March 2021
    • Role of an Environmental Health Officer:
  • Able to assist with and undertake the relevant property inspections and exercise any statutory powers
  • Check and inspect properties to assess accommodation standards, assess support, and take enforcement action if HHSRS standards are not met
  • Write cogent, grammatically correct, well-argued and concise letters and reports for a variety of purposes
  • Supervise and motivate staff within a team framework
  • Work with a wide range of people including landlords, tenants, contractors, elected representatives, Principal Officers
  • Manage a work programme, prioritise and respond to targets in delivering services
