Job Description

You have the chance to join a growing Food Manufacturing business that have a brand new position, Engineering Planner & Stores Admin to be based from their site in the Birmingham area. You will be responsible for the day to day planning & administration for Engineering & Maintenance department.Client DetailsThis business have an excellent market reputation & supply products into well-known companies. They are currently going through a huge lean transformation onsite & as the Engineering Planner & Stores Admin you will be part of an established team, leading the planning for the Engineering & Maintenance Department.DescriptionThis business are in need of a Engineering Planner & Stores Admin who will be working as part of a team, leading the day to day planning across the Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity to be able to interact cross functionally in order to improve their engineering efficiency. You will also be required to work alone as well as part of a team & some key responsibilities include:Engineering Planner:

  • Prepare daily engineering report for meetings
  • Record daily engineering hours and keep track of overtime/holidays/banked hours for department
  • Prepare monthly overtime sheets
  • Ensure daily engineer checklists are filed e.g., personal toolbox, allergen toolbox, engineering work sign off sheets, concessions - make sure forms are available
  • Ensure operating and maintenance manuals, diagnostic instructions and special tools are readily available to all engineering staff
  • Manage contractors / issue work permits and audit their work
  • Maintain department CMMS system
  • Train, develop and sign off nominated staff in the use of the system.
  • Ensures a safe working environment exists for ALL employees
  • To follow/apply effective safe working in accordance with Approved Codes of Practice governing working
  • Manages required standards of food safety, hygiene & GMP for the site
  • Stores Administration:
  • Carry out stock takes
  • Source stock and non-stock items
  • Ensure replacement stock items are re-ordered
  • Raise purchase orders for stock and non-stock items and service visits (CMMS and accounts) ensuring they are matched up with relevant work orders for reference
  • Close off completed purchase orders
  • Receive deliveries through CMMS system and accounts
  • Liaise with suppliers for quotes and keep track of order delivery and lead times
  • Ensure COSHH materials are correctly stored with Food Safe and Non-Food Safe chemicals segregated
  • Ensure stock levels are correct - carrying out adjustments when required
  • Add/remove stock items
  • Generate stock valuation reports
  • Issue out stock items
  • ProfileIdeally, an experienced Planner with experience within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. The successful applicant will also have:
  • Experience working with a CMMS system
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, working attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-Managing - Must be able to work on your own or as part of a team
