Engineering Graduate Training SchemeSmurfit Kappa Group is one of the leading producers of paper based packaging in the world, with longevity, sustainability and innovation at its heart. Check out our website to learn a bit more about what we do, who our customers are, and the awards we havewon. Paper based packaging is the ultimate sustainable resource (in the UK 80% of corrugated board is recycled, and the average cardboard box contains 75% recycled fibres). Coupled with our circular business model it is great to be protecting the planet aswe go about our day job.Smurfit Kappa Paper UK, a division of the Smurfit Kappa Group, operates two Paper Mills, one in Kent and one in the Midlands, each with over 150 years of paper making experience. Together they offer the greatest volume and the widest portfolio of paper availablein the UK, to ensure that our customers have both choice, and continuity of supply. As well as fulfilling customer need, sustainability is also at the top of the agenda for the business, from using recycled raw materials, to recycling the water and power usedin the paper making process to minimise our carbon footprint. This year we have vacancies on our 2 year Engineering Graduate Training Scheme for Graduates with an engineering degree. The scheme will be made up of four six month placements, three at your home mill, and one at your away mill and will cover a wide range of engineering fields. You will have the opportunity to join highly experiencedteams working on process improvement, maintenance and projects, as well as our CHP and water treatment plant. The nature of the work is varied, which means that we are often able to identify placements that coordinate with your interests, skills, experience and development needs, as well as current business priorities; this ensures placements are relevant to you,as well as adding value to the business. We want our Graduate trainees to reach their full potential both personally and professionally, while making a real contribution to the bottom line, so we provide them with the perfect learning environment of responsibility, motivation and support. Theywill receive on and off the job training, mentoring and coaching, in a real life, challenging work setting. The kind of people we are looking for will be confident and ambitious, with a natural flair for building relationships at all levels of business and outstanding communication skills.
