Job Description

We are currently recruiting for 2 Engineering Apprentices for a company based in Hockley Birmingham.GCSE or equivalent - Grade A-C (9-4) within Maths and English is essential.Hourly rate of pay will be between £6-£7 per hour with regular salary reviews based on achieving set key performance indicators.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a modern engineering environment . Family run business, going from strength to strength since 1978. Highly skilled engineers utilising the most advanced machinery.Purpose built facilities in the West Midlands, specialising in Turning, Milling, Horizontal Boring and Cylindrical Grinding of small to large and heavy components.This role is based in Birmingham near to the metro stop so you must be able to travel to Birmingham. Also you will need to attend City of Wolverhampton College for day release.Enthusiasm is a must along with a flexible attitude. Keen, motivated, reliable with a keen interest in Engineering.Engineering areas covered:

  • Specialists in heavy machining of a diverse range of materials - upto 20 tonne;
  • Huge capacity and skilled engineers with CNC/CAD machines;
  • A range of engineering services such as manufacturing, repairs and breakdown.
  • Experience, facilities and capacity to support a 24 hour break down service;
  • Full-in house testing - reverse engineering capabilities using FARO arm;
  • Sourcing quality components and fully managed control processes to reduce downtime.
  • Full Gearbox service suite which includes; inspections, analysis, strategy and maintenance;
  • Full inspection and engineering capabilities;
  • 24 Hour Breakdown service.
  • You will attend City of Wolverhampton College and will study for an Engineering Technician Standard . This is a 42 month Apprenticeship.
  • 2 days per week for year 1
  • 2 days per week for year 2
  • 1 day per week for year 3
