Regulation is a powerful Government tool to address market failures, influence behaviourand promote positive action, and can be an enabler of growth, innovation and efficiency.Our primary purpose is to protect people and places from product-related harm, ensuring consumers and businesses can buy and sell products with confidence.Your work with usWhen you join us in one of these roles you’ll be a member of our Products and Sectors Regulation Team, and work on Product Regulation – Eco Design or Energy Supply with a focus on Public Charge Points or Electric Vehicle Smart Charge. If your applicationis successful, we’ll ask you to indicate which role and location you’d prefer.Join the Product Regulation – Eco-Design team and you’ll ensure that products meet energy efficiency criteria and accompanying labels are accurate. Providing guidance on legal requirements, responding to enquiries, testing products, reviewingtechnical documents, and taking corrective action related to deficiencies, you’ll also conduct criminal investigations into any offences you identify. The team covers a wide range of areas including Outdoor Noise, Legal Metrology, Lifts, Large Domestic Appliancesand Product Internet Security.The Energy Supply Team enforces environmental and energy efficiency regulations covering electric vehicle charge points, alternative fuel labelling and heat networks. Join us as an Enforcement Team Leader with a focus on Public Charge Pointsand you’ll support businesses, assessing and increasing the compliance of public charge points, and taking appropriate enforcement action.The Electric Vehicle Smart Charge role will undertake similar responsibilities, but with a focus on home and workplacecharge points.
