Job Description

Job Role: Employer Engagement OfficerLocation: BirminghamSalary: 30K DOERole Overview:Trigon Recruitment are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employer Engagement Officer to working on a payment by results contract with Department of Work & Pensions, by placing participants into sustainable employment.Key responsibilities of the role:The role of Employer Engagement Officer is working on a payment by results contract with Department of Work & Pensions, by placing participants into sustainable employment.As part of this role, you will:

  • Work closely with local employers to gain sustainable employment opportunities for our participants.
  • Support staff to maximise on performance and productivity.
  • Work closely with current account managed employers, whilst developing new employer opportunities
  • Will involve elements of cold calling to bring new employers on board
  • Liaise closely with other employer engagement and business development team members to ensure that we are all working towards our employer engagement strategy
  • Work closely with team members and employers to reverse market participants into employment opportunities
  • Work with employers to gain access to work trials and or work placements
  • Support colleagues within work support of participants in your account managed employers
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Job centres, partner organisations, employers, and funding bodies.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records.
  • Report regularly to your line manager on your performance.
  • You must have proven experience of sales/recruitment in a target driven industry, developing productive relationships with employers, partners, and external agencies and also able to provide high quality employability focused assessment.
This role will require regular travel across the region so you must have a full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and business insurance.Knowledge and Skills
  • Previous experience and successful track record in commercial recruitment, sales, business development or employer engagement
  • Experience of working in a performance target driven environment.
  • Level 4 qualification or equivalent desirable
  • Good knowledge of local labour market and growth sectors
  • Proven ability to build collaborative, professional internal and external relationships
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, using a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behavior)
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Always presents a professional approach, while tailoring style according to the audience
  • Self-motivated, high-energy individual with a demonstrable passion for engaging with employers to achieve goals
  • Ability to proactively manage own workload and multiple priorities with excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to work
  • Ability to use own initiative, working independently and lead a team
  • Works well to targets and fixed deadlines
  • Identifies and solves problems
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Maintains confidentiality
