Job Description

Position Title: Employability Skills - TutorHours: 37.5 hours per week - Flexible to meet local delivery needsLocation: Birmingham/Coventry/West BromwichContract Type: Full Time, 3 MonthsJob Overview: The successful candidate will develop, coordinate, and deliver accredited programmes to employed learners, working externally at employer sites. They will provide exciting learning experiences which focus on Functional Skills and ESOL qualifications.Alongside delivery, the successful candidate will also be required to plan, develop, and evaluate participant portfolios.Key Responsibilities:Tutor:

  • Assist in the development and delivery of high quality, exciting, fun, and innovative training programmes
  • Work cooperatively with partners and delivery staff to develop the education and training programmes
  • Deliver qualifications to learners and manage the associated portfolios, paperwork and assessment materials plus mock assessments and exams.
  • Provide a vibrant, welcoming, and motivational learning environment
  • Produce and/or tailor relevant and motivational teaching materials, undertaking necessary research in order to deliver programmes to fulfil the needs of the learners and employers
  • Mark, assess and provide constructive feedback on learners work
  • Contribute towards ensuring excellent learner attendance, achievement, and retention rates
  • Ensure all administrative procedures are kept up to date prior to, during and after the programme (i.e., keeping a register, marking work, monitoring absence, completing funding documentation) to ensure all compliance and quality procedures and fundingrequirements are met
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, standardisation meetings, AS REQUIRED
Desirable qualifications/attainments, experience, knowledge, and skills:
  • Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local labour market, sector skills gaps, local employment and skills provision, specialist support networks, and education and training providers
