Job Description

We have a trading history going back well over 200 years, having a reputation internationally as a well-respected business providing a wide range of quality products and services to the shipping industryOur products are designed and manufactured in our facility in Birmingham and exported throughout the worldWe now have an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test and Repair Technician to join our current Production Team based at our Birmingham production facility.As our Electronics Technician you will assume responsibility for:

  • Testing the company products, sub-assemblies and PCBs.
  • Controlling the companies repair system.
  • Providing engineering support to the production department
  • Testing sub-assembly and PCBs to released drawings, test procedures and specifications.
  • Assisting in the production and test of the companys products.
  • Maintaining of company test equipment.
  • Analysis, test and repair of faulty units returned to the factory from vessels.
  • Technical product support for the companys existing products.
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • BTEC ONC or NVQ Level 3 in Electronics, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering
  • 2 years experience post qualification or a minimum 5 years experience in one of these disciplines.
  • Computer literacy
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and user manuals.
It would be great if you had:
  • Good understanding of micro-controllers
  • Experience of audio amplifier circuits
  • Be able to work independently
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good communications skills
