Job Description

2 Year Paye Fixed Term assignment for Project Supervisor for electrically biased manufacturing process improvement projects, based at a large recycling mill in north Birmingham. This would suit someone from manufacturing / process or a power generation background.

  • HNC / Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Project Management experience preferably in a lead position
  • PLC / DCS & process controls
  • Power Generation / HV LV
The Project Supervisor is responsible for leading and providing project engineering support across all stages of project delivery including business need identification, project justification, execution through to commissioning and final site acceptancetesting and handover.Take lead of designated projects and work with other project team members, site engineers, other site departments, consultant designers, suppliers, contract labour, other services and specialists as required.Act as project lead for HV / LV and control elements, such as
  • Obtaining supplier tenders
  • Tender assessments and recommendations
  • Assist with final procurement process and placement of orders
  • Act as supervising/lead engineer for the relocation of equipment
  • Liaise with site management, suppliers, contractors, SK departments, project team members, others as required
  • Site level supervision/management of contracted groups
Participate in development of designs, assessments and procurement processes for required key process plant. Including recommendations on use of technology and use of controlsDefine & help produce scope of supply with sufficient pre-engineering work to support accurate project costings.To assist in implementation of process improvements to existing plantProduce detailed cost estimates for execution of revenue or capital projects.Correspond and conduct meetings with suppliers and progress chase their deliveries.Specify and check drawings required for production of components and installationProject planning, programming of steps, preliminary through to installation work, i.e. drawings, ordering, manufacture and progress reports.Supervision of project site work, co-ordinating trades and activities, including civil works with technical support by others as required. Co-ordination of commissioning Help compile and issue operating instructions, documentation, drawings and manuals.Liaison with Production, Maintenance DepartmentsFinancial controls - maintain budget and best value at all times.Compliance with all legislation relevant or project work eg. CDM requirements etc.Compliance with contractor control proceduresThis is a great opportunity to be a key member of the large Capex projects team, which will hopefully lead onto other things.
