Job Description

New opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Building Services arm of a leading multidiscipline consultancy on a permanent basis in Birmingham. Our client works across a broad range of project sectors. Due to an increasing workload, they are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team.The successful Electrical Design Engineer will join a dynamic team, working across a range of project sectors. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Creating a range of detailed designs across a range of projects
  • Using relevant electrical design software to produce detailed and accurate electrical calculations and sub-mains cable sizing
  • Preparing electrical services drawings
  • Preparing specifications for lighting, small power, data and fire alarms
  • Liaising with clients and other stakeholders when required
  • Ensuring electrical designs and drawings meet client quality and brief
    • Essential skills, experience and attributes:
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Achieved or working towards chartered status
  • Proven experience within a similar role
  • Knowledge of current UK building regulations
  • Experience using relevant electrical design software e.g. Amtech, Dialux etc.
  • Proficient at working in a BIM environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines
