Job Description

Our client, an international law firm, are looking for a Document Production Manager to join their Business Information Systems Department. This is a permanent position in the Birmingham office reporting to the Head of Enterprise Applications.This candidate will manage a team of technical and functional analysts across a range of technologies developing and supporting the full Document Production Life Cycle within the firm, including Document Automation, Document Review and associated systems, including workflow and integration between applications. This will encompass the following:

  • Manage the workload and performance of the team.
  • Managing multiple projects from initial concept through development and deployment
  • Work with the Head of Enterprise Applications and IT Director and other members of the BIS Team and business stakeholders to define the strategic roadmap, deployment and development plan for the full document production lifecycle and integration with other areas of the applications landscape.
  • Manage communications to the business and key stakeholders
  • Key skills and experience:
  • Experience working in and/or leading a document production team
  • Experience of project management, preferably in the document management, automation and workflow in the document production lifecycle.
  • At least one full implementation of a large scale document management implementation including document store architecture, backup and recovery; deployment and governance framework.
  • Experience of managing business, technical and application resources to deliver solutions
  • Exposure to, or experience of the following technologies, including but not limited to:
  • iManage, NetDocuments, OpenText, SharePoint or similar document management solutions in a professional services setting
  • MS SQLServer
  • Work Flow technologies
  • Solid experience of the Microsoft development stack, particularly MS Office.
  • Experience of leading a technical team
  • Any experience with regard to cloud technologies particularly Azure, MS Teams and M365 Wheel would be of particular interest.
