Job Description

Director of Finance (Section 151 Officer) | Permanent | West Midlands (hybrid and flexible working) | Local GovernmentCastlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a West Midlands-based Local Authority who are looking to identify a Director of Finance (S151) to join their established team on a permanent basis.This is an excellent opportunity for a progressive Deputy Director / Head of Finance looking to take a step up to their first S151 post, or for an experienced S151 Officer to add value to a reputable organisation.Duties;

  • Work in partnership with the Chief Executive and Elected Members to provide leadership and strategic direction for the Council
  • Leadership and development of Finance team, driving a culture of continuous improvement
  • Build influential relationships with Elected Members and Leadership Team to ensure Council’s strategic objectives are achieved
  • Lead on Council’s resource planning, commercial activity, and corporate risk management
  • Develop commercial approach in identifying and securing new revenue opportunities for the Council
The person;
  • Fully Qualified with strong leadership experience developed within Local Authority
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to build key relationships at senior level
  • Strong commercial acumen
