Amazing opportunity to join a leading global business in Birmingham. They need someone with Data Protection experience on a permanent basis paying c£55,000 with 3 days a week home working available Overall Job Purpose: The Data Protection Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the Data Protection Team. This role will report into the DPO and the Head of Data Protection, and will support and deputise on all aspects of Data Protection, framework and compliancedelivery and operational governance. Main Duties of the Job: - Support the Data Protection Officer and Head of Data Protection in the development and implementation of the data protection framework, and ongoing compliance. - Provide expert advice to the wider business on UK and EU GDPR, and PECR. - Create and maintain data protection related policies, standards and guidance. - Create and deliver data protection training across the business. - Own and operate the business DPIA process and response. - Own and manage the ICO annual registrations and fees. - Undertake and/or support data breach investigations. - Create and chair the Data Protection Working Group. - Support culture change across the business, and continuously promote data protection good practice. - Support and feed into enterprise risk for data protection and PECR. - Responsible for gathering and populating senior management reports, including reports to the DPO and the Data Protection Steering Group. - Responsibility for management of Data Subject Rights process. - Responsibility for management of external exemption requests. - Responsibility for management of the DPIA process. - Support and advise on contracts and due diligence, specifically around Article 28 requirements. - Support the DPO & Head of Data Protection with regards to training and monitoring. - Deputise as necessary for the DPO, taking up the role of Deputy Data Protection Officer. - Manage the Data Protection Analysts, including mentoring, coaching and training to ensure continuous improvement in knowledge, experience and skills. - Any other duties as required by the management from time to time Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Education - GDPR or Data Protection specific qualification desirable but not essential. Skills Mandatory - Good interpersonal skills. - Confidence to deliver presentations and reports to senior management - Excellent UK and EU GDPR knowledge - Good PECR knowledge - Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure. - Ability to work unsupervised, to a high standard.
