Kind Consultancy is working with a well-established Financial Services business in the West Midlands which is currently seeking a Privacy Officer to join them in a permanent, full-time position paying up to £42,000. This is a predominantly remote role requiringoccasional travel to their Birmingham office.The Privacy Officer assist the Privacy Manager in the creation, development, rollout, and embedding of an effective, proportionate, and robust data privacy framework, with key responsibilities including:- Assisting the Privacy Manager in fulfilling the requirements laid out by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), or the Data Protection Officer.- Maintaining and improving the current suite of data protection policies and processes, whilst also maintaining an up-to-date data protection knowledge base.- Providing day-to-day support of the organisations data protection and privacy framework, taking responsibility for supporting the business in embedding a data risk-aware culture.- Acting as a point of contact for the business on all matters relating to data protection and privacy, engaging on more complex queries as required- Maintaining an up-to-date working knowledge of all relevant regulation and legislation; e.g. EU GDPR, UK GDPR, UK DPA 2018, PECR, etc.- Ensuring that developments in best practice, inc. frameworks, legislative, and general operational processes are tracked, and the organisation is made aware of requirements.- Promoting data protection, privacy culture and Privacy by Design around the business, through suitable training sessions and programmes that are widely disseminated and made available to relevant staff.Our ideal candidate for the Privacy Officer position:- Holds a Data Protection / Data Privacy qualification is essential, holding a university degree in a relevant subject would be desirable- Has 2+ years of experience delivering and operating a Data Protection / Privacy framework- Has Data Protection Impact Analysis (DPIA) assessing experience- Has previously developped a data protection / privacy framework, including rolling out and embedding.- Has experience of working in a small, specialist team and a hybrid working environment and of creating and delivering training materials to a range of stakeholders.- Possesses good working knowledge of GDPR and UK DPA 2018.- Is experienced in analysing data, and providing summaries and explanations to non-technical colleagues.If youre interested in the Privacy Officer role and you have the necessary skills, knowledge and qualifications, please apply with an updated CV today.
