Job Description

Starting at £20,155 with the potential to realise in role development increases up to £25,600 depending on performance and development criteria being met, this isnt your typical contact centre role.Debt advisors need to think on their feet and adapt to the diverse situations theyre presented with. In this role you will offer Debt Relief Order specific advice on eligibility and process efficiently, identify clients who do not meet the eligibility criteria,explain the reasons and signpost back to debt advice and draft, update and submit Debt Relief Order application forms accurately and ensure they reflect all information supplied by the client and any subsequent impacts and risks are clearly explainedAs a DRO Debt Advisor in our Birmingham contact centre you will be given Approved Intermediary Status by The Insolvency Service.You must therefore

  • be financially solvent and not currently, or soon to be, subject to a Bankruptcy Order, IVA, Admin Order or Debt Relief Order.
  • Free from unspent convictions relating to fraud dishonesty violence or any enactment contained in Insolvency legislation
  • Not subject to a bankruptcy restrictions order or undertaking
  • Not subject to a disqualification order/undertaking under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986
This will be a flexible role, working both from home and our offices. Debt advisors work 35 hours a week with shift patterns that fall between 9.30 and 5.30 Monday to Friday.What will I be doing
  • Working as part of a team to ensure clients get a high quality experience
  • Using active questioning and listening techniques to determine clients financial and personal circumstances
  • Handling a high volume of calls in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicating financial guidance
  • Working in an FCA regulated environment
Skills were looking for
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer service experience, if possible
  • Some confidence using a computer so you can check and record client details accurately
  • Patience, empathy and the ability to handle challenging conversations
  • The ability to solve problems
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong emotional resilience and rapport building skills
