Job Description

This leading financial services organisation has an exciting opportunity for a Content Strategy Manager to join a very busy team. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work at the Birmingham Head Office 1-2 days per week. Travel for meetings withagencies and stakeholders will also be required.This role will work closely with the wider marketing team and senior stakeholders across the business and take the lead in all aspects of content - from developing a multi-channel content strategy through to content creation/content writing, across offlineand digital channels. The role will play a key role in positioning the business as a leading voice in the industry and drive brand differentiation through developing and executing a new content strategy.The role is responsible for leading a team of 3 marketing professionals and provides additional support to the Senior leader with the broader communications strategies.Key Responsibilities:

  • A key part of the Brand and Integrated Marketing team responsible for the development and execution of the integrated content strategy and tactical plans
  • Responsible for the leadership and management of the Content team, ensuring staff are recruited, trained and developed to achieve their objectives whilst providing a high-quality service to their customers in line with society policy and behaviours
  • Support the broader leadership team within the Group Marketing function - influencing both inside and outside the department with responsibilities including resourcing, planning, risk management, and budgeting.
  • Work conjointly with Performance Marketing and other Marketing teams to ensure content is representative of the brand and integrated through the customer journey/channels
  • Identify gaps and create/commission inspiring and engaging content, ensuring it is written in the brand tone of voice, reflects the personality of the business, is of a high standard and incorporates input from key stakeholders across the business.
  • Work closely with business leaders to understand and develop internal research to develop themes/topics to support main pillars of content.
  • Ensure all content produced is optimised for search and user experience for all channels including online, social media, email, mobile, video, print.
  • Measure the success of all content against marketing goals; gather data, undertake analytics and make recommendations based on results.
  • Act as brand guardian to ensure consistent use of branding and that all content is supportive of the brand narrative.
  • Work closely with Performance Marketing and Data teams to build a contact strategy for optimum customer experience and minimal opt-outs
  • Manage the annual content budget plus any project spend in relation to content
Person Profile:
  • Professional Marketing Qualifications or marketing degree
  • Strong experience in a content management strategy role or similar, with experience developing content strategy as well as content creation is essential.
  • Content experience gained within the FS sector is essential
  • Experience overseeing/producing content for a producing range of audiences particularly copy, video and design
  • Adept at interpreting and analysing data to understand content consumption behaviour
  • Track record and experience of leading, managing and developing people and teams with budgeting, planning and resourcing
  • Strong business judgement; planning, decision-making and management skills; and communication, marketing, strategy and presentation abilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • Ability to present at a senior level and deputise for the senior leadership team at Board meetings
  • Ability to source and procure third parties, manage these relationships and liaise with Legal and Procurement.
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Programmes, particularly PowerPoint.
