Job Description

Senior Executive - Communications and Engagement Role Description This is a role for an experienced internal communications professional looking to develop their editorial and channel management skills and experience in a professional services firm.The role provides support to UK&I BMC in driving the Daily News agenda and messaging in line with our business priorities, and ongoing management of our range of channels, as well as involvement with other UK&I wide strategic projects.Key activitiesThe candidate will work with BMC colleagues in UK&I, EMEIA and globally as editor of our Daily News channel. Strong writing skills and editorial experience is necessary to the role, as are influencing skills and proactivity as there is real scope to develop and guide editorial content with the rest of the C&E team and the wider business in line with our UK&I priorities.The role will also encompass day to day management of our UK&I communications channels, and we will require the candidate to take a flexible approach to supporting other areas of the C&E function as required.Main responsibilities include

  • Editor and main contact for Daily News channel, and the planning & scheduling tool
  • UK&I editorial representative on EMEIA/global C&E editor calls, providing a two way link for feedback and updates
  • Writing stories and features for Daily News in line with our business priorities
  • Ownership of channel guides for C&E team and for wider business
  • Working with BMC digital manager to ensure C&E team is fully leveraging digital channels internally
  • Link with wider UK&I BMC team on key marketing activities, offering guidance on
  • How to shape content.
  • Qualifications:Degree level or equivalent requiredExperience:4+ years’ relevant experienceGeneral:All candidates should have good Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint at a minimum), a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and be self-motivated and proactiveWriting/editorial skills:Strong, fast, accurate writing skills, able to take complex messaging and distil key messages. Able to write in an engaging style for a range of internal audiences.Able to align messaging to key business priorities and influence others on editorial agenda accordingly.Proactive development and management of editorial schedule also aligned to key business priorities.Act as key editorial link with EMEIA and global C&E colleagues, providing feedback both ways on innovations, local perspective. Commitment to playing role in progressing editorial standards.Internal communications channels:Knowledge and experience of developing internal communications channels including posters, digital channels, face to face, webcasts/online meetings.Experience of working with creative agencies to produce engaging and effective on brand collateral and campaigns.Planning:Ability to produce a tactical communications plan, including key aims (tied to business priorities), audiences and their different needs, timelines and measurement.Development and execution:Experience of executing against tactical internal communications plans within timeframes and budget alongside C&E/BMC colleagues.Understands how to apply and check for conformance to brand guidelines and visual identity.Able, where needed, to challenge internal clients in positive ways that result in more meaningful internal communications aligned with business priorities.
