Your new roleCommercial Operations - Senior Quantity SurveyorWhat youll be doing

• Lead on the commercial and contract management of schemes ensuring that all works are managed in line with the contract, and oversee the preparation of budget estimates and target prices in line with contract from project inception to target agreement,and within the required timescales
• Line management responsibility for the Commercial Scheme Delivery team and oversee the work of the team, supervising staff, providing mentoring and training and ensure they meet their targets
• Oversee supply chain management including auditing requirements, enquiry documentation, quotation assessment, Work Order award and instructions, and payment assessment including all relevant documentation on a monthly basis.
• Ensure the management of site level change control including Early Warning and Compensation Event management and production, both to the Client and to the supply chain as necessary.
• Ensure the preparation of scheme forecasts are completed with associated risk profiles, and the monitoring of actual cost against targets to provide monthly variance analysis
• Deputise for Commercial Manager, as and when required
• Provide input into the national Asset Delivery model and other working groups to ensure lessons are learnt and taken into account for any future models and improvements made where possible.

To be successful

• Significant post qualification experience within a Quantity Surveying/ Commercial function with proven experience of providing expert advice and support to a wider organisation on complex commercial matters
• Ability to interact confidently and effectively as an intelligent and highly credible customer with counterparts from the commercial delivery organisation, operations and commercial experts
• Proven experience of implementing effective cost and commercial management processes that can deliver value for money for the Client
• Ability to work collaboratively with Operations and Supply Chain to achieve goals
• B.Sc. (H) or HND in Civil Engineering, Commercial Management or Quantity
• Surveying.
• Member or Associate member of relevant professional body (RICS / CInstCES).
• Strong management skills and can provide mentoring and support to the wider team
• Extensive commercial experience dealing with different forms of contract (NEC suite desired) and multiple clients (both private and public)
