Job Description

We are a global company that is passionate about IT and where we look to simplify the complex.We have been in the business of recycling Information Technology equipment for 12+ years and we are further investing in this part of our business.Operating out of a new fully refurbished 60,000 sq ft industrial premise in Birmingham, we are looking to triple the through-put of the recycling business, while also introducing new capabilities and processes aligned to current and future requirements.This position will be responsible for growing and developing the already substantial recycling / IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) business, under a separate identity, aligned to our French recycling operation (Recyclea).Working as the Head of Function, reporting into the Board, the role will be accountable for leading the creation and implementation of the Recyclea strategy, assuming management of the service design, sales, and operational teams, while also taking fullP&L and target responsibility.Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, defining and implementing the full Recyclea business strategy and operating model
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce and implement new operational capabilities and processes; focusing on future-proofing the operation
  • Working alongside the SCC sales teams, increasing their understanding of the Recycling business, whilst also delivering essential training and leadership, so they can further drive new business wins
  • Leading, managing and developing all operational colleagues aligned to Recyclea, whilst identifying areas for operational improvement and efficiencies and their subsequent implementation
  • Full P&L and budgetary control for the recycling function; taking accountability for forecasting, budgets, spend and ensuring the facility is providing the necessary return on investment
  • Creation and on-going development of a high-performance culture, with a motivated workforce. Key focus on working with, managing, and developing all Recyclea colleagues
  • Accountability for the provision of full reporting and monthly Board packs
  • Close collaboration with sales and marketing colleagues, to create a sales enablement strategy, focused on driving growth
  • Ownership of the go-to-market message and for formulating the Business-to-Business sales strategy
  • Design, development and on-going expansion of the Customer Experience Centre, while taking ownership for all Business-to-Business on-site demonstrations
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on all aspects aligned to overall sustainability and the government support/grants available, leveraging all available opportunities
  • Work alongside the Recyclea French operation in designing and developing global operational models and best practice
  • Day-to-day responsibility for managing Health & Safety across the facility to ensure compliance with HSE guidance
Key Skills & Experiences:
  • Fully conversant with environmental and waste recycling legislation and regulations
  • Capable and confident in owning the governmental support strategy; with the ability of attracting the necessary government support and assistance in the forms of grant and initiatives
  • Proven background and demonstrable experience managing a recycling function, ideally in the technology industry, but other industry experience will be considered
  • Strong experience in driving and increasing sales, growing margins and increasing productivity
  • Comfortable in managing a large P&L
  • Proven capability managing a cross-functional workforce, including external sub-contractors
  • Demonstrable track record of designing and implementing strategic plans and models
  • Ability to communicate effectively at the appropriate levels, internally and externally
  • Ability to translate and communicate business requirements and service requirements / specifications to varying levels of audience
