Job Ref: AW/056821Title: Commercial Manager UK & Ireland Based: Midlands Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 DOE plus bonusThe CompanyOur client is a Global retail technology company and manufacturer of equipment and associated software sold across the Grocery and Retail Food sector.   • The key focus of this role is to drive sales growth through the strategic business development of existing client groups. This includes close client monitoring to drive sales of replacement products and updated software options, lateral growth across a customer estate, or into similar client groups, ongoing profit-delivery through sales of reactive and preventative maintenance plans etc.
  • The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving sales growth across the entire client portfolio -you will have direct responsibility for driving growth within Tier 1 Client categories and will be responsible for delivering the growth through Tier 2 Clients through the effective leadership and guidance of a small team.
  • This is a strategic sales role which requires you to take a global view of the customer landscape, effectively track and manipulate sales data to identify gaps and opportunities, as well as being hands-on and customer-facing to consultatively promote the benefits of the business and its products to your clients to both generate buy-in and stay close to sales opportunities. You will play an integral part of long-range commercial planning.
  • The personWe are looking to speak to candidates who can demonstrate:
  • A strong track record in commercial sales, ideally from an equipment to Retail Grocery environment.
  • Able to regularly analyse and manipulate data to carry out gap analysis and devise business development strategy.
  • Ability to research the customer landscape and put together a strategic business plan with the commitment to track and monitor results.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth, results focused.
  • Established experience gained in a consultative sales role where you have driven sales to Key Retail Grocery customer groups.
  • Ambition and tenacity with a continuous drive to identify and close sales opportunities as well as grow your own experience and scope of responsibility.
  • Hands-on sales skills -strong in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent solution-selling skills with the ability to present a compelling value proposition which demonstrates a sound understanding of the client’s operation and pain-points.
  • Good technical skills or a natural interest in technology and software innovation.
  • Passion for and an interest in the sector -keeping abreast of industry trends and innovations as well as the challenges affecting the Retail Grocery sector.
  • Focused on delivering commercial growth in accordance with Group strategy.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and work away from home as required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a sales team towards a shared goal.
