Job Description

COMMERCIAL DATA SCIENTISTBIRMINGHAM (hybrid) £45,000 - £55,000 + bonus + benefitsThis is an excellent opportunity to work as a Commercial Data Scientist, joining the Analytics team weekly in the office of this leading retail company based outside of Birmingham. With the chance to be the go-to data science professional part of a wideranalytics team, this position would be perfect for someone looking to take on a new and exciting role.THE COMPANY:This is a leading company in the retail industry, currently offering a wide range of products and services. Therefore, with this companys large database of customers and transactions, the Commercial Data Scientist will have a wealth of data to work withand work on, thus continuing to refine your skillset.THE ROLE:

  • As the Commercial Data Scientist, you will be joining the Commercial Planning team as well as facing into the wider Analytics function. You will also be working on exciting projects, such as:
  • working on statistical modelling within the customer and commercial analytics space to provide insight, including regression, segmentation/clustering, and propensity modelling
  • this includes regression models, prediction models and forecasting for customer behaviour as well as price elasticity and category analysis across the business
  • building models from scratch, across neural networking, segmentation, regression
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:As the Commercial Data Scientist, it is essential that you:
  • Have excellent skills in SQL and R/Python
  • Have experience in building and deploying analytical models from end to end
  • Have experience in building regression and predictive models that can be built into the systems
  • Have excellent communication skills for working with other teams and communicating with stakeholders across technical and non-technical backgrounds
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
  • £45,000 - £55,000
