ResponsibilitiesClient Service Advisor (Account Handler)Commercial Risk Solutions | Birmingham We are hiring!Aon’s UK Retail business is currently recruiting a Client Service Advisor (Account Handler) to join our Birmingham office. The successful appointee will primarily have responsibility for providing high quality, innovative and profitable service to clients as an important part of a wider client service team. Commercial Risk Solutions provides risk & insurance services to organisations across a wide range of business sectors in the UK. Typically, clients are either national or multinational companies (with fewer than 10 overseas territories) looking for a local relationship and partnership with a broker that can deliver a tailored, bespoke service. Clients typically require a fit for purpose insurance programme and associated risk management services; the successful candidate can therefore expect to engage with Aon’s wider specialist resources across our business. This could include real estate, public sector and food & drink as well as construction, risk consulting and trade credit. About youAs a Client Service Advisor (Account Handler) you will need to have the following capabilities:

  • Commercial insurance experience gained either at an insurance broker or insurer
  • A good level of technical knowledge, especially in respect of major and pecuniary classes such as property, casualty, financial lines, motor and marine
  • Contractors and/or global expertise is preferred but not essential
  • A high degree of organisation, with an ability to prioritise work and deliver accurate timely results
  • The ability embed yourself into the team quickly and hit the ground running is an advantage
  • Progress with CII qualifications would be a benefit but is not essential
  • About the roleThe Client Service Advisor (Account Handler) role is key within Aon’s client service proposition. It requires the successful candidate to work within a wider team (and the wider Aon) to ensure the highest level of service is delivered to a portfolio of clients. Working closely with the appointed Client Manager (Account Executive) or Client Director you will need to fully understand the client’s business and insurance requirements to become their primary day to day contact for service related issues.Aon places great emphasis on relationship building so it is important that the successful candidate can establish and develop effective working relationships not only with the client, but with the Client Manager, the wider service team, insurers and Aon’s network of resources where appropriate.From an administration perspective, as a Client Service Advisor you will be expected to formulate the required service plan, reports and insurance marketing presentations, as well as producing other documentation that may be required dependent upon the client’s needs, debiting and producing invoices and maintaining credit control for your allocated client accounts.At a higher level, you will help identify potential improvements in the client’s programme design and offer recommendations to the Client Manager or senior account personnel, implementing any recommended changes for the client if required.
