Job Description

RSR Police is a market leading recruitment business dedicated to supplying experienced practitioners on a temporary, contractual or permanent basis to the Law Enforcement, Cyber Security, Offender Management and Regulatory Services talent markets.RSR and West Midlands Police are currently recruiting for cleaners in the Birmingham area.This is a 4 month temporary contract and offers a rate of pay of £9.93 per hour.Full or part time will be considered, must be flexible as occasional weekend work is required.Main Duties:

  • Undertake cleaning and portering duties as required at buildings across the West Midlands Police Estate and other premises, in order to maintain hygiene and good housekeeping levels and specified standards.
  • Maintain and monitor all external waste receptacles (bins, skips, compounds) and report on any service issues.
  • Lay out rooms in designated training/meeting rooms as requested.
  • Report any maintenance faults, broken, surplus or shortfalls of furniture as necessary.
  • Assist in making safe areas affected by water and/or other spillages
  • If required, to clear ground level drains and gullies, ensuring they are free from any obstructions, working outdoors and in unpleasant or hazardous environmental conditions
  • Carry out litter picking of public and staff entrances, external grounds, sweeping and clearing of car parks and surrounding outer areas, garages, store rooms, and waste compounds as necessary.
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose the post that may from time to time be determined by line manager.
Essential Requirements:
  • Having a full clean driving license and access to own vehicle will be an advantage.
  • Able to undertake work that involves physical effort e.g. lifting and manual handling.
  • Able to commute to alternative areas of work within the police estate if required.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • BISCs cleaning methods is desirable.
