Heading up a team of 12+ which is continuously growing. This Chief Engineer role reports into the Head of Engineering being a hands-on subject matter.Maybe youre only a bit part player in your current organisation, your current vertical is too narrow, or you just want to broaden your responsibilities and depth of knowledge within structural design engineering and stress analysis. Were on the bleeding edgeof zero emissions technology and the integration into electric vehicles.If youre currently in a managerial role, you might miss being hands on and remember the reason why you trained to be an engineer in the first place.We can tick all those boxes for you and give you a challenging but rewarding and satisfying role as our new Chief Engineer for structural design and stress analysis.We have gone through rapid expansion, have grown our headcount of engineers quickly and we have structural and stress engineers that will look to you for your leadership, supervision, development, and guidance.YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Chief Engineer - structural, mechanical, automotive, vehicleYou will lead a team of Structural Design Engineers and Stress Engineers by example - being their go to sounding board for all their design and development issues on multiple simultaneous R&D projects You will define work packages, allocate their works loads, supervise, and check their designs ultimately holding responsibility for sign off You will develop your structural and stress engineers to perform to do the best of their abilities and support their career development throughout your department and beyond YOUR BACKGROUND: Chief Engineer - structural, mechanical, automotive, vehicleYou will have a proven background covering stress analysis and structural design within vehicle design. This could be from aerospace, automotive or marine. Maybe a combination of one or more. You will be comfortable leading Engineers using finite element stress analysis tools and 3D CAD software. We use CATIA V5 and MSC Nastran here. You will have held the delegated responsibility for authoring, checking, approving, and releasing engineering reports and drawings. Within your career you will have had exposure to CAA/EASA/FAA part 21J design organisation.
