Job Description

C# Developer – Flexible workingWorking in the heart of Birmingham, our client who is a well-established financial services organisation are looking for an experienced Developer join their team on a permanent basis.Using the latest Microsoft technology using the Agile development methodology our client is developing services in C# and the frontend (Single Page Application) in JavaScript/HTML.Role profile:

  • The role requiresan experienced Developer with at least 5 years’ experience who is delivery focused and takes personal accountability for the quality for all deliverables.
  • The candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to collaborate on topics with staff with different levels of technical understanding.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Must be able to guide and mentor junior developers when required
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Must be self-motivated to stay on top of the latest technologies
  • Significant experience using current versions of C# and .Net
  • Demonstrable understanding of object-oriented design
  • Knowledge of Typescript, Knockout and JQuery (pref. within a Single Page Application architecture) is highly desirable
  • Significant experience using HTML, modern JavaScript frameworks and CSS
  • Solid understanding of current web technologies and trends
  • Knowledge of Entity Framework
  • Consumption of REST based services using AJAX
  • Demonstrable understanding of test-driven design, especially unit testing in a .NET environment
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutio
    • Secondary/Advantageous Skills:
  • Experienced in microservices architectures
  • BDD – Behaviour Driven Design experience using Specflow and Gherkin would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of writing automated UI tests using Selenium
  • Working within an Agile /Scrum Environment
  • Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI integration tools
  • Financial Services with pensions experience would be advantageous
  • Experience with Kafka
