Job Description

Job Description Your New roleHere at National Highways, we currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Services Team Leader to join our team in Birmingham. Within this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of Business Service Co-ordinators across our Birminghamand Nottingham office, you will also be administering the workforce planning for the Midlands region as well as managing the workflow of the team and focussing on governance and finance responsibilities.This role will require travel to the Nottingham office on a monthly basis.What youll be leading on

  • Act as a line manager to administrative staff, completing appraisals throughout the year and as required by the annual performance review process, to effectively manage performance, development and essential people management responsibilities.
  • Manage the effective application of consistent working practices and procedures, ensuring deployment of resources according to priorities, adapting work methods to organisational changes to continually improve delivery and performance to provide a highquality, accurate and timely service to meet business and customer needs.
  • Gather and analyse data, drawing information from a variety of sources, to produce reports, presentations and other documents inclusive of recommendations to support management decision making.
  • To effectively monitor and coordinate the flow of information into group inboxes, ensuring that all requests are actioned appropriately to agreed timescales.
  • Manage and deliver allocated project work, ensuring it is delivered in accordance with the brief. Invite challenge, present robust recommendations and escalate concerns to the delivery lead or line manager (as appropriate).
  • Lead, motivate and develop team in providing proactive and flexible support to time and quality; build capability to meet developing business needs and improve resilience.
To be Successful
  • Experience in using relevant MS Office software and other related tools to enable production and maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets, some roles may require the ability to use more specialist software and IT to collate data andproduce relevant reports
  • Good understanding of staff performance and line manager responsibilities
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Workforce planning experience is desirable
