Job Description

Business Development ManagerAutomotive Aftermarket DataAn exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager / Sales Manager has arisen with a provider of industry data to the automotive aftermarket. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and nurturing sales within the automotive aftermarket, ideally combined with experience of working with a service-based product. If you can be both the hunter and the farmer, this is the role for you!Our client is a leading provider of pricing data to various industries and has recently acquired an automotive data business which has expanded their offering to the industry via subscription-based insights. The business provides a dynamic, entrepreneurialenvironment for employees to thrive in alongside a competitive salary, bonus structure, enhanced benefits package and a work from home structure.Home office based, with some travel - ideal location - Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Warwick, Coventry, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Stratford-upon Avon, Oxford, Luton, BanburyBasic salary £35-45k + Bonus (OTE up to 54k) + mileage expenses + enhanced pension + life assurance + healthcare plan + Perk Box + 25 days holiday (+ birthday + bank holidays)The Role:

  • Strive to become an expert in using our online Automotive Insights platform and will demonstrate to prospects how they can use the tool for their own needs, motivating high user activity within a free trial on the platform.
  • Be proactive in maintaining an active and on-going cold calling/emailing routine, with continual follow up actions and monitoring. Manage this process to agreed weekly/monthly KPIs.
  • Arrange and undertake both face-to-face, and video call-based prospect/customer visits and meetings. This will require an element of travel when the situation dictates.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management team and the Tech team to provide feedback from users for product improvements.
  • Interact with marketing teams - advising on new ideas for content creation.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and customer records - in our software of choice (Hive and HubSpot.)
  • Create a pipeline of prospects and be responsible for all continuous engagement activities as they see fit.
  • Represent the business at trade shows and aftermarket events and aim to undertake presentations or Q&A sessions concerning our abilities within the automotive aftermarket.
The Candidate:
  • Our ideal candidate will be a very strongly motivated self-starter, extremely capable of working across the various stages of business development and sales activities. As the role progresses and we win an increasing number of paying customers, the rolewill also offer account management opportunities - moving from a "Hunter" type focus to a "Farmer" focus.
  • Proven, successful experience within a sales and/or business development role in the UK automotive aftermarket.
  • Excellent business development and sales skills, covering all aspects of the sales funnel.
  • Willingness to lead from the front, roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
  • Previous experience of selling a service-based product is advantageous.
