Job Description

Through our brands, we specialise in managing tax, employment (umbrella), accountancy and legislative compliance for the UKs small businesses and contingent workforce- our solutions are market leading, and were always looking out for the best possible employees.We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Director to lead a top performing field based sales teamIn this role you will be responsible for leading a team of New Business Development managers, setting the strategy for winning new business from recruitment agencies, end hirers or via strategic partnerships.You will become a subject matter expert in our industry, having an in-depth knowledge of compliance, relevant IR35 and umbrella regulation. You will be an excellent networker within industry organisations to ensure that Optionis/Parasol becomes the brandof choice.The Business Development Director reports into the Director of Agency Sales and will give input into direction and strategy of the wider sales function.As well as managing a team, you will be responsible for targeting and winning business with some of the larger MSP and recruitment organisations. You will develop compliant payroll solutions in true partnership with these organisations.Role Profile:

  • You will be accountable for implementing a strategy to win new business, whether via recruitment agencies, direct end clients or through strategic partnerships
  • You will be responsible for developing new compliant payroll solutions for MSPs, end clients and large recruitment agencies
  • You will be responsible for monitoring and driving sales activity of the new business team and supporting them where required in meetings or at events
  • Your team will be responsible for generating their own leads, nurturing their own opportunities and ultimately winning new PSL positions and generating new contractor joiners for any of the Optionis Group brands, with a particular focus on Parasol umbrellaand Clearsky Accounting.
  • You will be targeted with personally winning opportunities with large end clients, agencies or MSP organisations
  • You will attend networking and other industry events to represent the brand and group
  • You will become an industry expert and we expect you to stay abreast of relevant regulations and legislations in order to add value to our agency partnerships
  • You will conduct field-based activities to win new business, including working outside of office hours, when required, to organise and attend client entertainment or networking events, and will travel extensively across the country to meet clients or supportteam members on meetings.
  • You will be responsible for providing insights to the business and regular reporting and progress updates
  • Will carry both a team and a personal target
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Several years experience in a new business development management sales role, preferably at senior level, with a demonstrable track record of success
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders in organisations.
  • Ability to create and own a strategic business plans to achieve targets
  • Previous management experience and can demonstrate ability to motivate a small team of business development managers to achieve targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of our industry and ability to stay up to date with applicable legislation and regulation.
