Job Description

Brake Press OperatorBirmingham£13.50 per hour + OvertimeMorning/Afternoon/Night ShiftsA Brake Press Operator will be primarily operating and programming on Bystronic brake press machines to work within tolerance on small to medium batch work.Operators are responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Strong communication skills are essential due to shift patterns and team-based work structure.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Deliver outstanding job without compromise to quality of product and safety.
  • Setting up, Programming and operating hydraulic press or punch for routine established work including loading/unloading material and changing tooling.
  • Reporting basic material, production and control issues.
  • Prioritising production runs to ensure that customer orders are completed in a timely manner, while maximising machine run time and productivity
  • Proven experience using press brake (a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends)
  • Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings in both first and third angle view.
  • Must have experience in both setting and operating the machine.
  • Previous experience working with Bystronic systems advantageous.
  • Keen attention to detail is required.
  • Experience working with sheet metal or in a manufacturing background
  • Ability to carry out First Off Inspections
  • Must show aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills
