Job Description

Are you an experienced Bench Hand Assembler / Door Fabricator with a strong background in handling soft woods/ timber products, and proficient in the use of relevant hand tools and saw equipment If so we have an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity for a market-leading manufacturing business with free parking, salary reviews and a three day weekend!Our client is a well-established producer of fire door and commercial fit-outs, as such all applicants must come from a relevant background as a Bench Hand Assembler / Joiner. Main responsibilities for the Assembler will include;Use of beam saws/ rotary saws/ basic cutting machines

  • Working from basic technical drawings
  • Usage of measuring equipment (namely tape measures)
  • Safe use of nail guns, rivet guns, drills to build frames to specification on a shared bench
  • Eventual training onto bespoke wood-based machinery such as spindle moulders and CNC routers
    • The ideal candidate will possess most of the following attributes;
  • Familiar with the basic principles of window/door manufacturing
  • Physically fit and able to manoeuvre panels of 15kg- 20kg
  • Some practical knowledge of carpentry / joinery (formal qualifications would be advantageous but not essential)
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Good with your hands and pride in your own work
  • Proven background as a machine operator / Bench Hand Assembler
