Job Description

This is an unparalleled opportunity to impact lives and thrive in an environment where your work directly translates into meaningful advancements in healthcare.Role Purpose:As a Back-End Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the software development team, focusing on creating robust and scalable back-end architecture on top of which reliable and responsive user interfaces are built. Reporting to the Head of Software Development,you will be instrumental in developing the core functionality of digital healthcare applications, ensuring they meet the high standards of reliability, performance, and compliance required in the healthcare industry.Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain the back-end of web and mobile applications, primarily using .NET Core C#, Azure, and FHIR.- Focus on writing business logic and data-tier code, optimizing for performance and scalability.- Expose models and APIs consumed by the UI, minimizing the business logic in that tier, and enforcing logical separation.- Develop further APIs consuming and exposing endpoints for external integration.- Take initiative in project organization and naming conventions.- Collaborate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.- Develop high-quality, scalable, and secure code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.- Work closely with the UI/UX team supporting the creation of intuitive and exciting user interfaces.- Ensure projects and endpoints are documented to a suitable level for reading by other developers.- Contribute to the Agile development process and continuous delivery frameworks, coordinate sprint rituals, understand our backlog, and address any technical debt.- Engage in code review, version control (using Git, SourceTree), and continuous integration processes.- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure seamless deployment and scalability of applications within Azure.- Support data-driven decision-making by integrating and utilizing tools like Microsoft Power BI.Core Skills:- Proficiency in .NET Core C#, Vue.js, Azure, and FHIR.- Experience with Azure, Azure Health Data Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Blob Storage, App Services, and future clustered services like AKS.- Strong background in API development and management.- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous delivery principles.Desirable Skills:- Experience with MS Dev Ops.- Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning concepts, particularly within the Azure platform.- Knowledge of healthcare data management and compliance (FHIR, OpenEHR, NHS Data Protection Toolkit).- Proficiency in automated testing frameworks (Moq, NUnit).- Secure by design training and awareness.- Experience with IoT applications and remote monitoring devices.- NHS or healthcare background and awareness.- Experience with Python and other scripting languages.Qualifications:- Graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
