Job Description

Closing Date - 20/01/2021Birmingham 2022 are looking for an Audio Visual Project Manager who will lead all project phases for the delivery of audio visual solutions required by B2022 at each of competition and non-competition venue, including Front of House arena audio systems, videoboards and associated control equipment, active node-based cabling infrastructure and Public Address Voice Alarm (PAVA) systems. Working closely with the Audio Visual Suppliers, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all audio visual requirements are delivered on time and within budget. The role will likely transition to have a focus on Venue Technology delivery, either on venue or centrally within the Technology Operations Centre at games time in 2022.ResponsibilitiesManagement of Audio Visual Suppliers:

  • Coordinate, and provide input to, requirements gathering and design activities.
  • Diligently record requirements to validate technical system designs, bills of materials and venue drawings produced by the Supplier(s).
  • Validate technical solutions and equipment quantities.
  • Facilitate AV stakeholder communication, ensuring that dependencies, actions, assumptions and risks & issues are agreed, assigned, tracked and closed-out in an efficient manner, escalating as required.
  • Accurately manage all project related records and drawings
  • Planning and delivery management:
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Venue Technology Services team, Venue Overlay team, Venue Management, Sport Presentation, Sport Competition Managers and Venue Owners to ensure elicited requirements and solutions meet needs.
  • Develop an increasingly detailed view of the technology products and services to be deployed in order to test and operate all venues on time, within budget and for the best experience of the various clients.
  • Project Management:
  • Be supportive of budget guidelines, challenging FA requirements and demonstrate a rigorous design-to-cost approach that supports effective and efficient venue operations.
  • Work closely with the wider Venue Technology Team and other FAs to update the master technology plan and proactively assess and manage related risks, escalating urgent issues for resolution as required.
  • Ensure venue plans, risks and issues are kept updated and provide summary progress reports as required.
  • Skills & Experience RequiredEssential
  • Excellent English language skills
  • End-to-end experience of leading relevant audio visual projects in a project management capacity within the event sector, or on projects that involve multiple deliverables and stakeholders.
  • Good, up-to-date technical knowledge of AV systems.
  • Experience of coordinating multiple stakeholders to formally agree requirements, designs and responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in managing contracts and Suppliers in a formal project environment.
  • Desirable
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Formal project management certification.
  • Specialist AV training or certification (AVIXA CTS or similar).
  • Ability to competently install and operate basic AV equipment.
  • An understanding of audio visual services within a multi-sport event setting.
  • Understanding of construction site health and safety processes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of standards relating to PAVA systems.
