Job Description

Closing Date: 10/10/2021Birmingham 2022 is looking for an experienced Assistant Mapping Manager with knowledge of geographic information systems.The Assistant Mapping Manager will produce maps with a core geospatial element and to manipulate spatial data received internally and from external stakeholders. In addition to this, they will support the Mapping Manger with the production of internal andpublic facing maps across all functional areas within the organising committee.If you have a passion for Graphic Design and are skilled at producing static and digital mapping outputs then this could be the role for you! We are looking for a creative individual to join our join our team to help deliver the best Games to date.Responsibilities

  • Assist the Mapping Manager by supporting the production of static and digital mapping outputs for technical and public facing documents using an in-house mapping suite and Adobe Illustrator or similar as appropriate.
  • Assist with and co-ordinate the Organising Committees use of spatial information using desktop and online mapping/GIS software and products.
  • Work with Functional Areas (FAs) and partners to understand and plan mapping outputs.
  • Produce mapping outputs for a range of technical and community facing documents, utilising an in-house mapping suite and Adobe Illustrator while adhering to agreed cartographic standards.
  • Utilise tools such as ArcGIS Maps for creative cloud or QGIS to export information for digital enhancement within Adobe Illustrator.
  • Create, edit and manage spatial information with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS or similar.
  • Manipulate and translate spatial data from a range of mediums (CAD, MapInfo, CSV, KML, GEOJSON) into GIS format.
Skills and Experience RequiredEssential
  • Diploma/degree or similar qualification and/or experience
  • Experience working towards deadlines within a project environment.
  • Experience in graphic design, utilising Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Experience in using a suite of mapping and design products.
