Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating ControlsJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating ControlsIndustry Sector: Plumbing & Heating Installers, Electrical Wholesale, Plumbers Merchants & Builders MerchantsArea to be covered: Midlands (LL, SY, LD, HR, GL, WR, B, CV, LE, WS, DY, WV, TF & ST)Remuneration: £35,000-£45,000 + £10,000-£20,000 Bonus/ CommissionsBenefits: Fully expensed Electric Car & Full BenefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating Controls will involve:

  • Field sales position promoting a manufactured range of domestic heating controls, and energy saving products
  • Responsible for selling domestic heating controls to national and independent merchants and distributors
  • Majority of your time selling into and managing relationships with plumbers merchants, but also some builders merchants and electrical wholesalers
Will also be required to stimulate demand with plumbing & heating installers
  • Managing nationals such as TP Group, Grafton, Graham, PTS and buying society members as well as independent plumbers and builders merchants & electrical wholesalers
  • Managing an area with circa 300+ branches, which need calling on every 6 weeks, 5 good quality calls per day
  • Current turnover circa £400,000, you will be tasked with growing revenue to £600,000
  • Fantastic opportunity for territory growth and for sales person to make a name for themselves as the area has been performing below budget expectation
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating Controls with:
  • Plumbing and heating industry field sales experience
  • Must have sold through and have relationships in place with plumbers merchants
  • Ideally used to stimulating demand with plumbing & heating contractors / installers
  • Specific heating controls knowledge is not essential but may be advantageous
  • Open to a manufacturer or merchant field sales background
  • Excellent territory planning skills
  • Determined nature, team player with stability
  • Proactive approach and strong communicator
