Job Description

Application Support Engineer - RemoteMarston Holdings Limited (MHL) is a parent company formed of eight brand entities that each specialise in key areas of our overarching business. In a nutshell, we are the UKs largest judicial services company and pioneers in clean air technology, offeringservices that support local and central government, utilities, and private sectors through the delivery of market leading integrated technology-enabled solutions from design and implementation to management and recovery.We have an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Application Support Engineer to join our in-house development team! This is a full time, permanent position.Please note! The successful candidate must have resided within the UK for the last 5 years.You will be responsible for supporting and developing core applications and software solutions used by the business.What you will be doing

  • Take ownership of issues and see them resolved efficiently.
  • Configuration management in multiple environments
  • Support application deployment during upgrades to production services
  • Work with analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements that drive developments.
  • Write clear, maintainable, and optimal code.
  • Contribute to team standards promoting continual improvement in processes.
  • Test and refine features throughout the development cycle.
What we are looking for:Essential
  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft SQL & MySQL
  • Experience developing applications across a variety of technologies.
  • Proficiency in working with version control systems
  • Experience of working in an Agile SCRUM environment
  • Problem solving, planning and analytical skills
  • Experience of managing queries and problems
  • Strong communications skills with a demonstrable ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organisation.
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
  • Ability to work to agreed process, coding, and documentation quality standards
  • A practical, methodical, and structured approach to work
  • Knowledge and Skills Desirable
  • Experience of Administration/Maintenance of BizTalk applications
Desirable
  • Knowledge of ITIL
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience using Halo ITSM
  • Experience using Atlassian Confluence
