Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone. Our justice system defends our fundamental rights and freedoms. From some of the most vulnerable people in our society, to families in crisis, claimantsand commercial businesses - HMCTS has a responsibility to administer a justice system that is accessible to everyone and operates efficientlyOur public sector client is looking for a temporary worker to join their team as an Admin Officer (Jury Officer). This is initially a temporary role until 19/06/24 with a very good chance of an extension. This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, Monday- Friday. You will work around the hours of 9am - 5pm. The pay rate for this role is £11.28 per hour, paid on a weekly basis.As an Admin Officer (Jury Officer) your day to day duties will include but not be restricted to the following:- Responsible for supporting the arrival and introduction of those involved with jury service - Processing juror expenses claims for approval - Supporting jurors throughout their service and responding to any queries or concerns about proceedings - Preparation of jury panels and supporting the usher team in the empanelment process - Support with administration of juror documents (including letters relating to long trials, deferrals etc) You will also be supporting the Jury Manager with the following: - Preparation and sitting of juror questionnaires- Planning and arrangements for the number of jurors needed on a weekly basis - Stocking of court supplies and keeping stationary supplies up to date - Dealing with deployment of jurors to other locations - Support Usher Manager completing basic admin tasks/projects- Supporting with ad hoc duties, as and when advised - Covering the usher role in court, if needed - Being the point of contact when the jury and usher manager are not available The ideal candidate will have 12-18 months of admin experience in a work environment. The client are looking for a candidate with strong administrative skills and able to pick up new processs/systems with training.The successful candidate for this role will require a DBS check.
